RSS Popper 0.25 development

An early beta version of RSS Popper 0.25 is now available for download.
Main new features include:
* GZip support (reducing traffic)
* ETag / Last-Modified tags support (reducing traffic)

The final release will be, as usual, in two week.

Also - someone asked me to respect the refresh interval of feeds which state their refresh interval. I've failed to find any feed which does that, I only saw the standard. If you're reading this please contact me by e-mail.

Hello Sagi,

We are using Wordpress to create a blog. Within wordpress, you can enter an excerpt of the message. Is there a possibility to show this data also inside Rss Popper? the XML of one of the messages looks like this:
- !item>
!title>test!/title>
!link>http://mysite.comp/?p=17!/link>
!comments>http://mysite.comp/?p=17#comments!/comments>

I Changed the starting '<' with an '!' to get the data accepted. The part I mean is the 'description' entry
greetings,

Rudy

Yes it is possible, but I need a working feed to test it. If you can provied me with such feed (or just send me a sample XML), contact me by e-mail: sagi (at) rsspopper.com

We have an RSS feed over ssl with ntlm authentication. The feed fail with an authentication failure (unable to read feed from link. 401: unauthorized). I guess the NTLM authentication makes the login fail. Any comments?

I've done few authentication improvement in v0.25d, however since I could not test it I'm not sure if fixed it. Please contact me by e-mail.
