If you've closed Outlook, it mean that the Outlook process is still running for some reason. Check the FAQ for suggestions.
Is it possible to have Popper show the actual web page instead of just the link like Mozilla Thunderbird does?
Why closes RSS Popper always the root folders when starting Outlook? I have to do one click more now everytime I start Outlook 2003. This is annoying :(
Just as a comment, I would look at making dates on the postings show up as the dates in the RSS feeds and not when they were downloaded.
When I get the RSS feed from the Microsoft On-Demand Web Seminars, I always get the entire list insttead of just the newest ones. http://www.microsoft.com/communities/rss.aspx?&Title=On-Demand+Webcasts&RssTitle=Microsoft+Webcasts%3a+On-Demand+Webcasts&CMTYSvcSource=MSCOMMedia&WebNewsURL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.microsoft.com%2fevents%2fEventDetails.aspx&CMTYRawShape=list&Params=+%0d%0a%09%7eCMTYDataSvcParams%5e%0d%0a%09%7earg+Name%3d'EventType'+Value%3d'OnDemandWebcast'%2f%5e%0d%0a%09%7earg+Name%3d'ProviderID'+Value%3d'A6B43178-497C-4225-BA42-DF595171F04C'%2f%5e%0d%0a%09%7earg+Name%3d'StartDate'+Value%3d'12%2f31%2f2004'%2f%5e%0d%0a%09%7earg+Name%3d'EndDate'+Value%3d'12%2f30%2f2005'%2f%5e%0d%0a%09%7e%2fCMTYDataSvcParams%5e+&NumberOfItems=100
The RSS in that page contains only Title, Link & Description. RSS Popper is using the Link field to identify a news/message. If Microsoft changes the link (which seems likely in this case), the news/message will be re-posted.
I don't think there's anything I can do.
HHMMM... I never did that... I did not mean to imply that you did something wrong.

I wonder what RSS Bandit does because it does not do that. Maybe there is some tracking they do that filters out the items that already exist. Maybe they are using the title as the key. Anyway, this application is really nice. My only problem with it right now is that my Junk Mail filter is moving the posts out of my folders and into the Junk Mail folder. It just looks weird when all of a sudden over 1000 posts show up in junk mail. Maybe there is a way to mark these as not applicable for the junk mail filter. << Home |
